T E R M S  O F  P U R C H A S E

Confirming Your Order

An order is confirmed upon receipt of 100% payment of the agreed sales invoice. All custom orders are made specifically to each customers specifications and the manufacturing process does not begin until the agreed payment has been received.

 

Lead Times

Upon order confirmation we will provide you with a target delivery date. This delivery date is based on a full specification being received along with the full payment of the sales invoice within 48 hours of the sales invoice date.

 

Cancellations

If for any reason the order is cancelled after the manufacturing process has begun, Oil and Grains reserves the right to retain up to 50% of the order value.

 

 

Your 30 day Warranty for your Oil & Grains Product

We are confident that you will love your bespoke product and offer you peace of mind with our 30 day warranty on all of our products.

 

If you receive a product from us which is damaged or is structurally faulty, we will arrange for it to be collected, repaired and returned to you. Where a repair is not possible, the affected part or component will be replaced.

 

We make every effort through our marketing, photographs and descriptions to enable you to fully visualise your end product.   We aim to achieve your specification as closely as is practicable, accepting that each piece of timber is unique in appearance, with varying amounts of knots, cracks angles, colouring and live edges and therefore no two tables will look exactly the same.  If you have any concerns with regards to these natural variations, please raise these on your order so that we can discuss these with you prior to production.

 

If the product has not visually met with your expectations, we will offer to replace it, on a one time only basis, with another of the same specification.  However, this will not guarantee that you will find the replacement product any more aesthetically pleasing to you due to the natural forms of each piece of timber.  Alternatively, we can discuss a different specification to achieve your requirements.

 

Your 2 Year Wood Movement Warranty

Natural wood movement occurs as the natural timber acclimatises to the surrounding environment, which can sometimes result in changes in the material.

 

From tree felling to product delivery, the timber continues to acclimatise to its environment.  During the first 12 months of being in your home it adapts to varying environments, from sunlight to humidity to central heating. During this first 12 months you may notice small temporary changes due to expansion and contraction of the timber. Kiln Dried timber for internal use can range from 8%-15% and when in

 

Our proven methods of product design and processes minimise the likelihood of you experiencing any noticeable issues. However, if after the 12 month period there are any noticeable issues due to wood movement, please send us an email with your order number to jack@oilandgrains.co.uk attaching your photographs, to enable us to fully assess.

 

This Warranty covers refurbishment works for:

  • Cracks that have opened by more than 2mm

  • Differences in the horizontals of the table top over 1% of the table’s width

  • Where, for example a table is 1000mm wide, a difference in flatness of over 10mm

 

Note: Natural timber products may reduce in width, across the grain, and thickness naturally as they acclimatise to any environment.  Refurbish works are better avoided where possible as the process may require losing additional material from the table surface and/or edges.

 

This Warranty may be affected by Environmental Factors

  • The following are some of the environmental factors which can increase the risk of wood movement and/or natural shrinkage:

  • Central heating

  • Underfloor heating

  • Wood burners/fires

  • Direct sunlight

  • Skylights

 

 

This warranty does not cover additional materials or product replacement.  Refurbishment works are covered; however, the refurbishment process may result in a small loss of material in your product, altering the dimensions.

 

Where you require any material replacement to restore the product to the original dimensions (where possible), we can provide you with a quotation.

 

Period of Warranty Cover

You are covered under this warranty if you notify us of any wood movement issues you would like us to address up to 24 months from receiving your order

 

After 24 months, any refurbishment works requested will be quoted at our labour and material rate at that time.

 

Significant wood movement is unlikely after the initial 12 months in your home, so we strongly recommend you wait at least 12 months before having any refurbishment work carried out, as any further movement after the warranty service will not be covered by the warranty.

 

Refurbishment work can take between 4 - 12 weeks from collection to re-delivery depending on the nature of the work.

 

What is Not Covered by the Warranty

This warranty does not cover:

  • Wear and tear

  • Staining/Scratching/Marking

  • Refinishing

  • Accidental damage

  • Changes in the timbers appearance which are not a result of wood movement.
